Department of the World Economy was founded in 1993 with the aim of training highly qualified professionals in the sphere of the National and World Economy.

The chair has highly qualified teaching staff consisting of doctors and candidates of economic sciences, who have extensive experience in teaching and research.

Since 2011 the chair starts the training of Bachelors of Economics with the following domains of the professional orientation:
• The World Economy
• International marketing
• Accounting, analysis and audit.

The training of Bachelors of the major of “the World Economy” is aimed at forming competences, which will allow them to work in the spheres of economics, marketing, international economy, banking and finance of the national and international economy.

The major “International Marketing” will allow our graduates to research the market, work out marketing strategy of the company, define the pricing and communication policy of the company, make up offers for the development of product lines.

The major “Accounting, analysis and audit” is aimed at the formation of fundamental economic and financial knowledge about methods of payment transactions, management decision-making aimed at the development of organization, providing audit services.

Training of professional economists is carried out on a wide range of academic disciplines. Along with the socio-economic and humanitarian, mathematical, vocational cycles great importance in the educational program is given to the study of foreign languages, providing intercultural and professional communication in the economic sphere on the national and international levels. In-depth language training of the future economists is carried out in two foreign languages (in conjunction with the English language German, French, Spanish or Chinese are studied).

During the course students undergo educational and practical training, which allows them to revise the theory and acquire practical skills. Students analyze domestic and international activities of companies and organizations that have different patterns of ownership. The chair has long-term contracts for the organization of the student practice with Research Institute of the Accounting Chamber of the Russian Federation, The Federal Antimonopoly service of the Russian Federation, LLC “Siemens” and others.

The Chair provides for the student research group (SRG) which helps students develop creative thinking and academic skills, and encourages research work. SRG members do research into global and regional integration, foreign economic activity and international economic relations. SRG members organize and hold scientific and practical seminars, conferences, round table discussions, academic competitions, intellectual games and other events.

After graduating from the university graduates have an opportunity to get a job with leading commercial organizations and banks, both Russian and international as well as with state organizations.

Graduates of the Chair of the World Economy can take a postgraduate course with MSLU (speciality 08.00.14 – World economy).
