The Department of International Tourism and Hotel Business implements the higher vocational education programme based on qualification 101100 “Hotel industry” of the profile “International hotel business” with proficiency in two or more foreign languages.

Qualification (degree) – “bachelor”
Apprenticeship – 4 years (mode of study – full-time)

“International hotel business” is a launchpad for a successful professional career and a great opportunity for ambitious and hardworking young people aspiring to hold top positions at the international level.

The Chair also continues to implement the training programme based on qualification 100201 “Tourism” designed for 5 years (mode of study – full-time, part-time), qualification - “specialist in tourism” (the last admission took place in 2010).

The training at the Chair is carried out by high-skilled PhDs, professors, masters of sciences and associate professors who have solid experience in the tourism and hospitality industry.
During the training period students are taught a wide range of disciplines: “Hotel business organization”, “Strategic management in the world hotel industry”, “Restaurant management”, “Innovations in the hospitality industry”, “International hotel industry and classifications of hotels”, “Marketing in the hotel industry”, etc.

Students have regular practical training sessions at famous Moscow hotels (“Ararat Park Hyatt Moscow”, “Krasnye Holmy Swissotel”, “Marriott Hotels&Resorts”, etc.) where they put into practice theoretical knowledge and acquire professional practical skills, study domestic and international working methods in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The Chair coordinates the work of a student scientific society which is aimed at developing creative thinking, enriching and strengthening the professional knowledge that students get at the University.
Students take an active part in the preparation and carrying out of theoretical and practical seminars, conferences, roundtable discussions, contests for the best student scientific work, academic competitions, mind games and other events.

Students have an opportunity to go for practical training to foreign universities and companies of Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Spain and other countries.

High-class professional training and fluency in several languages account for the graduates' high competitiveness in the labour markets of Russia and abroad.

Graduate students of the Department can continue their studies at the Postgraduate Centre of the MSLU.

Fundamental professional background and knowledge of two and more foreign languages give graduates competitive advantages when looking for a job in famous Russian and international hotel properties, management companies, tourism and hotel associations and unions, tourism and hotel business regulatory bodies, etc.
