Department of International and Constitutional Law was created in 2000. 
  
The Department is responsible for teaching of the following courses:

International Law; Constitutional Law of Russia; Constitutional Law of foreign countries; Theory of State and Law; history of Political and Law Systems; History of Russian State and Law; History of State and Law of foreign countries; Administrative Law; Roman Law; Problems of Theory of State and Law; Special Course #1; Special Course #2; International Security Law; International Contract Law; Criminal Law of foreign countries. Practice for International Law specialization.


The Department of International and Constitutional Law comprises outstanding professors and lecturers. A few famous professors and international lawyers are working in the staff of MSLU on a regular basis, including Honoured Lawyer of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, professor A.S. Samoilov; Doctor of Law, assistant professor Yu.Yu.Sokovykh; Doctor of Law, professor E.D. Shelkovnikova; Honoured Lawyer of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, professor N.A. Shulepov; PhD (in Law), assistant professor G.K. Efimov; PhD (in Law), assistant professor N.Yu. Iljin, PhDs (in Law) F.A. Buzurtanova, I.B. Karpova, e.V. Migatcheva, L.F. Shulepova, A.V. Yasnosokirsky and others.

For the past few years, the following monographs have been published: N.A. Shulepov “Courts Martial in Modern World” (2006); Ignatov and N.A. Shulepov “Economic Security of State and Problems of Its International Law Provision” (2007); V.B. Bukaerva, Yu.V. Truntsevsky, N.A. Shulepov “Criminal Liability for Legalization (Laundering) of the Proceeds, Acquired Illegally”(2007) ; L.F. Shulepova “Modern German Additional Criminal Law” (2007); the following textbooks were issued: N.A. Shulepov and L.F. Shulepova “Criminal Law of Foreign Countries. General and Special Parts” (2007); N.A. Shulepov and N. Yu. Iljina “International Law”(2007) and etc.

Research work of students is connected with studies of the bases of constitutional systems, structures and legal frameworks for activities of the state bodies, fundamental rights and duties of citizen. Students also conduct research work in the sphere of topical issues of international law and the place of the Russian Federation in the modern world.
