The Department of Linguistics and Professional Communication in the Sphere of Media Technology was intertwined into the fabric of the Institute of International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences in 2006 to school specialists in Sociology, Journalism and Public Relations. The faculty give professional classes in ten foreign languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Italian, Dutch, Ukrainian, Kirghiz, and Armenian).
The curriculum of the Department incorporates teaching practical linguistic courses in the 1st and 2nd foreign languages (over 1 – 4 terms); coaching undergraduates in the ways of Culture of Speech Communication (over 5 -10 terms); instructing students in Professional Communication ( over 1 – 4 terms); training specialist skills in the Culture of Professional Communication (over 5 – 10 terms).
The Department is actively participating in the process of steady and consistent development of innovative teaching methods, with a particular emphasis laid on the students’ wide- scale mastering of their career-oriented skills in foreign languages.
The faculty of the department are enthusiastically involved in devising topical teaching materials to enhance the quality of academic work. Top-notch linguists work out diverse programmes for the above-mentioned courses, teaching aids, visual and applied materials, and textbooks for advanced learners.
