The Department of Linguistics and Professional Communications in the Sphere of Foreign Region Studies
Head of the DepartmentThe Department of Linguistics and Professional Communications in the Sphere of Foreign Region Studies has been a subdepartment of the Institute of International Relations and Social and Political Sciences since September 1st, 2010, and has been training future experts in foreign region studies. The Chair offers four foreign languages (English, German, French, Italian). From the first through the fifth semester, the comprehensive ‘practical courses’ of the first and second foreign languages are taught. From the fifth through the tenth semester, ‘practical course of conversational culture’ is taught. ‘Professional communication’ are offered to students from the first through the ninth semester.
The Department is engaged in the development of a new trend in teaching foreign languages, namely, advanced professionally oriented language teaching for students of non-linguistic branches of study.
The Departmenthas been developing up-to-date and topical teaching materials, textbooks and programs.
