The Spanish Translation Department of MSLU's Translation and Interpretation Faculty provides instruction in all types of translation and interpretation in accordance with the curriculum (interpretation and translation from Spanish-to-Russian/ Russian-to-Spanish) to students in years 3, 4, and 5 from all the Departments of MSLU's Translation and Interpretation Faculty, the Faculty for Foreign Students, as well as to groups of interns from Spanish universities. The Department also provides an elective course in simultaneous interpretation.

   The academic staff suggests themes for students' graduate projects aimed at resolving current translation issues and challenges, including those connected with the translation of political, economic, scientific and technical texts, the translation of fiction, poetry etc.

   The Department has a staff of experienced instructors, specialists in the theory of translation with significant work experience as translators or interpreters.

   The department is headed by Natalya Nikolaevna Nichiporenko, associate professor.
