During the three days, the representatives of eight countries - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan – were exchanging experiences and discussing the language situation in the CIS member states. They evaluated the effectiveness of existing practices, determined optimal approaches to harmonizing the language situation in the conditions of a multilingual, multicultural, and multi-confessional community of states.

All the participants highlighted the importance and necessity of such a large-scale event, as well as the fact that the Russian language continues to be the language of interethnic communication and intercultural exchange in the CIS space.

As a result of the congress, a resolution was adopted, outlining the main provisions and directions for the further development of partnership relations between the cultural institutions, research and educational institutions in the CIS region. This includes addressing language interaction as the basis for an integration dialogue and expanding efforts to translate classical and contemporary Russian literature into the national languages of the CIS peoples and literature of the CIS countries into the Russian language.
