MSLU opens India
25.12.2023

From October 20 to December 23, students from the Institute of International Relations and Social-Political Sciences of Moscow State Linguistic University underwent an internship at the Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management (IISWBM) in Kolkata, India. The implementation of the program became possible within the framework of the signed agreement on academic cooperation between MSLU and the Indian university.

Six students majoring in "Journalism" and "Advertising and Public Relations" are being trained in the program "Communication Management in Public and Socio-Political Life." The program mirrors the Russian-Indian agreement: from July to September, six Indian students studied at MSLU.

During the month of training, the MSLU students mastered the peculiarities of management in various spheres of social and socio-political life. The faculty of IISWBM acquainted the Russian students with the specifics of management in sports, culture, politics, and human resources. Being the oldest business school in India, the Indian University has established a unique and specific educational program that meets the needs of Department of Communication Technologies students of MSLU.

As part of their stay, the Russian students met with the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata, Alexey Idamkin, the globally renowned artist Jogen Chowdhury, and the Minister of Tourism of West Bengal. They were invited to celebrate Durga Puja, the main festival of the Bengalis, in the house of Dr. Basu, the philanthropist and doctor. Good communication skills, solid linguistic training, knowledge of protocol basics, and understanding the importance of intercultural communication allow MSLU students to participate in various events, whether it's watching the final match of the Cricket World Cup, attending a workshop on creating rangoli (colorful rice flour patterns on the ground), a lively religious festival, or a high-level meeting.
