High Art of Translation: MSLU Holds a Scientific Conference Commemorating Sergey Goncharenko, a Famous Hispanist

The Goncharenko second international scientific conference "The High Art of Translation" took place on April 27-29  as part of the event to mark the 80th anniversary of MSLU’s Translation Faculty.

The event program included reports by scientists from 18 universities of Russia, Belarus, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, and Switzerland.

The discussion focused on the specifics of consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, literary and audiovisual translation, translation teaching methods and use of the modern techniques in interpreting classes. Professors and experienced interpreters shared the outcomes of their research and practice, made presentations and gave master classes on interpreting in different language combinations. Undergraduate and graduate students presented their projects.
