MSLU Hosts a Traditional Festival of Cultures

The Festival of Cultures, the most colorful festival of the outgoing spring to be organized by the MSLU Youth Policy Department, has turned into an unprecedented three hour-long multilingual music program involving more than 150 participants from twenty countries.

Innara Guseynova, Vice-rector on project activity and youth policy, opened the festival by initiating a parade of flags of the representive countries. University students and staff used 20 stands to introduce the cultures of the languages studied at the University offering visitors samples of their national cuisine, showing their folk costumes, explaining their customs and traditions, conducting various master classes and, of course, talking about the specifics and subtleties of the languages they represented.

An important part of the festival was its multilingual ethnographic concert featuring songs in foreign languages, folk costumes, musical instruments and dances.
