Rector of MSLU Irina Kraeva at UAE Embassy’s reception on International Day of Human Fraternity

On January 31, Rector of MSLU Irina Kraeva and Vice-rector Innara Guseinova visited UAE Embassy’s reception on the occasion of International Day of Human Fraternity. This celebration established by UN General Assembly is held on February 4 due to the meeting between Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad al-Tayyib, which took place that day in 2019 and resulted in the signing of the declaration “Human fraternity for world peace and living together”.

United Nations highlights the importance of education, which should contribute in promoting tolerance and the elimination of discrimination based on religion or belief. Raising awareness about different cultures, religions or beliefs is necessary to achieve societal acceptance and respect for religious and cultural diversity, which leads to understanding of the common values shared by all humankind.
