MSLU as a Russian Delegation Member in Cuba

On May 17^th, Havana hosted a meeting of the Russian-Cuban working group on cooperation in the field of education. At the meeting MSLU was represented by Sergey Pilipenko, Pro-Rector for Development and Digitalization, and Irina Shokina, head of the Department of International Cooperation and Internationalization.

The meeting was part of the official visit of the Russian delegation headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko as part of the 20th meeting of the Russian-Cuban intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation.

During the visit a cooperation agreement was signed between MSLU and the University of Havana. This agreement allows MSLU to develop cooperation with Havana University in several areas: translation and translation studies, the theory and methodology of teaching Spanish as a foreign language and international hotel business.

On the invitation of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), another Cuban MSLU partner, Sergey Pilipenko and Irina Shokina visited the University, where they had a meeting with its management. They discussed the development of networking cooperation in the field of "Information Security", as well as the participation of MSLU representatives in the UCIENCIA-2023 conference to be held September 27-29, 2023 in Varadero in a hybrid format.
