MSLU Foreign Students Perform in Moscow Youth Theater

To mark the anniversary of Alexander Pushkin’ birth on June 6 the Moscow Youth Theater directed by Vyacheslav Spesivtsev premiered a stage production of ‘Eugene Onegin’.

The main roles were played by students from the Institute of International Educational Programs, foreign students from Syria, Vietnam, Iran, Bulgaria, Serbia and Italy, for whom Russian is not their native language. Vyacheslav Spesivtsev and Semyon Spesivtsev helped the actors to immerse themselves in the world of the immortal novel in verse. It was also a kind of challenge in what proved to be uncharted territory for the theater directors both professionally and pedagogically, linguistically and interculturally.
