Representatives of Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil) visit MSLU

On September 12, MSLU welcomed a delegation from the Federal University of Minas Gerais: the rector of the university, prof. Sandra Almeida and Director for International Cooperation Prof. Aziza Saliba, as well as Second Secretary of the Brazilian Embassy in Russia Andre Joao Riplom.

Professor Almeida is the representative of Brazil on the Worldwi de Universities Network, and next year she will chair the commission of the Brazilian Association of Comparative Literature.

The guests were received by Larisa Petruchak, first vice-rector for education; Olga Iriskhanova, vice-rector for science; Vladimir Storozhev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs; Irina Shokina, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Internationalization; Dmitry Belyakov, director of the Institute of International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences; Ekaterina Pokholkova, Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting; Ksenia Nechaeva, Head of the Department of Portuguese; Zoya Dolgikh, associate professor of the Portuguese language department. Master's students Alena Golysheva and Daria Prokhorova worked as translators during the negotiations.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects and directions for further cooperation between universities, such as joint programs for advanced training for Russian language teachers and joint programs in the fields of literary criticism, linguistics, and various scientific research.
