MSLU Volunteers at the World Festival of Youth and Students

MSLU students actively participated in the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi which took place on October 14–22. It was for the third time that Russia hosted the festival. The number of participants this year was greater than ever before, with more than 25 thousand delegates from 188 countries. MSLU was honored to be one of the platforms for selecting and training volunteers to take part in the organization of such a large event and provide linguistic services.
MSLU volunteers have successfully completed the initial training course and were able to perform practically all functions at the festival, effectively interacting with foreign participants and providing linguistic services for the festival's administration. Linguistic training that all MSLU volunteers have received enabled them to provide services at large events within the festival's framework and help the participants understand everything in case they did not know Russian.
The festival site in Sochi is acknowledged as the largest in the festival's 70-year history, and the most diverse in terms of the number of languages used.
