MSLU Celebrates Its 95th Anniversary

On January 30, Moscow State Linguistic University held a ceremonial event titled “Toward the Centenary” to celebrate the University’s 95th anniversary. The celebration brought together distinguished guests, faculty members, students, alumni, and veterans of the University community.
Opening the event, MSLU Rector Irina Kraeva reflected on the strong connection between generations of students, faculty, and graduates, highlighting the University’s unique academic spirit and traditions. She also noted the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in implementing landmark anniversary projects, including the opening of MSLU’s new Simultaneous Interpreting Centre.
A key part of the celebration was an awards ceremony recognising MSLU faculty and staff for their long-standing contribution to education, research, and the development of the University. Congratulations to MSLU were delivered by representatives of federal and regional authorities, academic institutions, international organisations, and long-standing university partners.
The anniversary programme also featured performances by MSLU students and artistic groups, reflecting the University’s multilingual and multicultural identity through music, dance, and poetry.
