On September 30, MSLU had the honour to receive Peter Mitchell, Head of the Department of Translation and Language Communication of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​of Tomsk State University, full member of the Institute of Linguists (Great Britain), practicing translator and consultant on intercultural communication. Our guest and Vice-Rector for Science Olga Iriskhanova, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and internationalization Irina Shokina, Director of the Project Office for International Cooperation Olga Egorova, Dean of the Faculty of English Kseniya Golubina, Dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting Ekaterina Pokholkova, Director of the Institute of Continuing Education Sergey Kolesov discussed educational and scientific interaction and cooperation. Since MSLU hosts All-Russian and Eurasian Olympiads in foreign languages, the University invited Mr. Mitchell to join the jury of these Olympiads. To continue and expand school Olympiads, the parties discussed the organization of the All-Russian Foreign Language Olympiad for students. They also discussed issues of organizing faculty modules within the framework of vocational training, as well as joint research projects of strategic and academic leadership, as well as terminology in medicine and nuclear energy. Peter Mitchell's online course "Career planning: resume / CV, cover letter, interview" was launched in June this year on the Coursera platform and ranked among twenty most popular MOOCs in the world in July.
