Programme Overview

Cultural industry is one of the fastest growing industries not only in Russia, but also abroad, which generates the demand for specialists in the field of cultural management, in both the public and private sector. Cultural diplomacy is increasingly seen as a soft power tool. In this regard, a steady demand is being formed for exclusive cultural projects, tourist and excursion programmes, as well as for their professional linguistic support. By the end of the programme, our MA students will have acquired excellent skills, experience and knowledge to undertake these tasks. Our graduates

· have a thorough grounding in cultural studies and humanities and strong foreign language skills;

· are capable of effective intercultural communication;

· are fully equipped to create high-quality educational and socio-cultural products; design corporate culture development programs in multinational companies;

· are excellent cultural consultants.

What You Will Study

· History and methodology of cultural studies

· Linguoculturology, theory of intercultural communication

· Identity in social and cultural anthropology

· Philosophy of culture, current problems of modern culture

· New challenges in international cultural cooperation (including arts, theater, music and cinema)

· International cultural tourism; international interfaith cooperation

· Socio-cultural design in an international context

· Project management of cultural events

· International etiquette

Our graduates successfully apply their knowledge and project skills in federal, regional and municipal cultural management bodies, international humanitarian cooperation programs; cultural and art institutions engaged in international activities; non-governmental and non-profit organizations, business structures:

· Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh)

· Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs

· Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo)

· Gokhran of Russia and the Diamond Fund Exhibition

· The largest museums and exhibition centers in Moscow: the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Garage Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Moscow, Museum and Exhibition Complexes "New Jerusalem", "Tsaritsino"

Graduates of the programme are active in the creation and implementation of major international cultural projects: "XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi (2017); "Tavrida"; Festival of Youth Fashion and Street Art Faces&Laces”; international music project "Bull on the Roof", "Night of Arts", "Night at the Museum", "Biblionoch" and many other well-known projects.
