UN — MSLU Memorandum: Meeting with the UN coordinator

On July 27, 2021, Anna Uspenskaya, UN coordinator of Training Programme for Candidates for the Competitive Language Examinations under the Memorandum of Understanding between the UN and MSLU, met with Larisa Petruchak, vice-rector for education, and Irina Shokina, head of International cooperation and internationalization department, head of MSLU Training Programme for Candidates for the Competitive Language Examinations. It is noteworthy in these turbulent times that the meeting took place offline.

 

The UN and MSLU representatives were happy to highlight that the working relations between the UN and MSLU under the Memorandum are developing smoothly. In May 2021, at the Global Conference of the Memorandum member universities, MSLU was praised for notable performance since joining the programme in 2019. In this regard, the UN decided to extend the Memorandum with MSLU for another two years, therefore, the meeting attendees discussed plans of further developing the programme and expanding cooperation.

 

In the summer of 2021, a simultaneous interpretation workshop is traditionally held for graduates of MSLU Training Programme for Candidates for the Competitive Language Examinations, and simultaneous interpreters of the UN Russian section of interpretation hold a significant number of workshop sessions. Testing will be personally conducted by the UN coordinator Anna Uspenskaya. Based on the results of the workshop, two documents will be issued to the students, namely, a certificate from the Russian section of interpretation of the UN Department for General Assembly and Conference Management and an MSLU certificate.
