Our students on an internship at the University of Matanzas (Cuba)

In the spring semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, Dana Almasova and Fedor Slastilov, third-year students of the MSLU Institute of Humanities and Applied Sciences, went on a short-term internship to the University of Matanzas (Cuba), being the first students from Russia, on the basis of an agreement signed in 2022.

Matanzas is a port city on the northern coast of Cuba, the administrative center of the province. Matanzas is nicknamed "the city of bridges" (there are 17 of them), "Cuban Venice" and "Cuban Athens".

The University of Matanzas has seven faculties. Our students will study tourism at the Faculty of Business Studies. The university is located on a large territory, has several buildings, in other words, it is a whole campus. The hostel has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Employees of the international department provide all necessary assistance, for example, with purchase of SIM cards and currency exchange. The locals are friendly, but speak Spanish very quickly, and the students gradually get used to the accent and speech peculiarities of the Cubans.
