UN-MSLU Cooperation: Speech Techniques

The main program for preparing for UN competitive language exams at MSLU includes various special courses, including “Speech Technique”, which is taught by Sofya Vysokovskaya, teacher of the stage speech department of the Theater Institute named after Boris Schtscukin.

As part of the classes, breathing, speech correction, elaboration of articulation errors and much more are held.

Our colleagues, simultaneous interpreters of the UN offices in New York and Geneva, became interested in the course, and in the framework of the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the UN and MSLU, they asked for a lecture-master class in speech technology. The lecture was a great success, almost 30 of its participants noted the undoubted benefit of such classes and expressed the hope that such master classes would become regular.
