Meeting with Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic

On October 20, MSLU received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Russian Federation Ekaterini Nassika and councellor for culture and education of the Embassy Dimitris Yalamas. The guests were welcomed by rector of MSLU Irina Kraeva, head of the Department for International Cooperation and Internationalization Irina Shokina, dean of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting Ekaterina Pokholkova and professor of the Greek language Alexey Grishin.

The parties discussed the prospects for establishing partnerships between MSLU and the most prominent Greek universities, which would allow for mutual internships of students and professors, academic cooperation, joint scientific conferences and other projects.

MSLU started teaching modern Greek language at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting on September 1, 2019. However, MSLU has been cooperating with the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic in the Russian Federation and the Hellenic Cultural Center for a long time, peaking at the 2019-2020 period, Cross Year of the Language and Culture of Russia and Greece. MSLU took part in the International Book Fair in Thessaloniki in 2019, where the opening ceremony of the Cross Year was held. Our university hosted the celebration of OHI national day in 2018 and 2019. 

In addition to Modern Greek, MSLU features ancient Greek language at the Department of Theology of the Institute of Humanities and Applied Sciences.
