Day of the Russian Language: Online Meeting with Russian Section of the Interpretation Service of the UN Secretariat in New York

On June 7, the staff of the Russian Section of the Interpretation Service of the UN Secretariat in New York held an interactive meeting with students and professors of MSLU as well as students of the  Programme for preparing interpreters and translators for international organizations and the UN competitive language exams and participants of the 1st Model UN Translation MSLU.

Anna Uspenskaya, Sergei Gogin and Christina Lugovina discussed with the audience the importance of the Russian language in the field of international interaction and answered questions regarding the prevalence of the Russian language in the UN organizations. The questions referred to penetration of  translation loan-words from English into the Russian language, strengthening the position of the Russian language abroad, platforms for remote simultaneous interpretation which might replace tan interpreter.
